Waiting with Faith

I'm really questioning some things in life these days. But in a healthy way.

Where do You want me Lord? What do You want me to do in this situation? What about in this situation?  What is the right decision to make here? Is that Your nudging or my own wants?

I have always found that the best possible place to be, is in the center of
God's will, even if it seems scary. There is no better place to be. Ever.

I think the hardest part about that, is that sometimes it means we have to WAIT
for the Lord to show us what to do. Waiting is the hardest.
But I need to try to
wait with FAITH, not with worry.

Truth: Part 10

Humble yourselves, therefore under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you. Cast all your cares on Him because He cares for you.

Truth: Part 7

I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans for good and not for evil; plans to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11

Truth: Part 6

Be gracious to me O Lord, for I am languishing; heal me O Lord for my bones are troubled. My soul also is greatly troubled. But You O Lord, how long? Turn O Lord, deliver my life; save me for the sake of your steadfast love. I am weary with my moaning; every night I flood my bed with tears; I drench my couch with my weeping. My eye wastes away because of my grief, it grows weak because of all my foes. Psalm 6:2-4,6,7

Depart from me, all you workers of evil, for the Lord has heard the sound of my weeping. The Lord has heard my plea. The Lord accepts my prayer. Psalm 6:8-9

Truth: Part 3.

I have called you by Name, you are Mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy one of Israel, your Savior.
Isaiah 43:1-3

Truth: Part 2

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the Everlasting God, the creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary, His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary and young men shall fall exhausted, but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40: 28-31

The End of Myself

My mom recently sent me a link for a video from the We Walk With Jesus website. It was a video about a husband and wife who adopted a child and the child developed severe mental and physical disabilities and this ended up bringing them to Christ I think. And what the husband said at the end of the video really spoke to me. Here is what he said:

"God brings us to the end of ourselves - end of strength, wits - destroys our pride and self confidence in order to reveal to us His grace. Your circumstances don't define Gods love for you - the cross defines His love for you.  Your circumstances are merely used to point you towards that Love - to bring you to a point of total desperation, where you kneel at the Cross, and surrender all of your strength, for all of His grace."

Interesting Points...

I'm not really a fan of Joyce Meyer but today I watched an hour long sermon of her's on YouTube. Here are a few points that are really relevant to me right now.

-What Satan means for harm, God intends for good.

-It may look bad now, it may hurt now, but somewhere down the road, it is going to work out for my good.

-He can take a mess and turn it into a miracle

-The attitude you have while you are in the wilderness determines how long you will be there

-If you stay busy thinking about right things, the devil won't be able to fill your mind with wrong things.

Have Your Way Lord

This is a great song I've been listening to over and over again lately.

Lord, please have Your way in my life.

Great Quote

"The more we love God the more we will obey. The more we obey the more we will be aware of the reality of Christ in our lives. The more we are aware of Christ in our lives, the more victory we will experience. The more victory we experience, the less difficult the choices are and the less conflict we have within ourselves." ~ Norma Becker

My Fibro

Well, my Fibro has been really, really awful lately, affecting every part of my life. I'm currently unable to work and am eagerly awaiting the start of the treatment at the hospital.

But with all this happening, I am trying to stay in the Word and cling to the Lord. I'm hanging onto the promises in Proverbs 3:5-6.

'Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding, but in all of your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths."

HE SAID!!

This song has really been speaking to me lately.

He won't give me more than I can take and He might let me bend, but He won't let me break. He will never ever let me go. And I'm not going to forget what He has said.

Trust & Obey

This song has been on my heart and mind all day. Lord, help me to trust and obey even when it is hard to do.

Columbine Speech

I recently recieved a forward containing a speech given by Darrell Scott to congress on an anniversary of the Columbine massacre. I immediately recalled this tradgey and a girl named Rachel Scott who was 1 of the 13 people killed. I read a book called "Chain Reaction: A Call to Compassion Revolution" written by her father after the tradegy. It talked about how Rachel and Eric (one of the shooters) both talked about wanting to start a chain reaction - very different chain reactions obviously. Anyway, the speech her father gave was pretty amazing so I thought I would include part of it on here:

"Since the dawn of creation there has been both good & evil in the hearts of men and women. We all contain the seeds of kindness or the seeds of violence. The death of my wonderful daughter, Rachel Joy Scott, and the deaths of that heroic teacher, and the other eleven children who died must not be in vain. Their blood cries out for answers.

The first recorded act of violence was when Cain slew his brother Abel out in the field. The villain was not the club he used. Neither was it the NCA, the National Club Association. The true killer was Cain, and the reason for the murder could only be found in Cain's heart.

In the days that followed the Columbine tragedy, I was amazed at how quickly fingers began to be pointed at groups such as the NRA. I am not a member of the NRA. I am not a hunter. I do not even own a gun. I am not here to represent or defend the NRA - because I don't believe that they are responsible for my daughter's death. Therefore I do not believe that they need to be defended. If I believed they had anything to do with Rachel's murder I would be their strongest opponent.

"I am here today to declare that Columbine was not just a tragedy-it was a spiritual event that should be forcing us to look at where the real blame lies! Much of the blame lies here in this room. Much of the blame lies behind the pointing fingers of the accusers themselves.

Men and women are three-part beings. We all consist of body, soul, and spirit. When we refuse to acknowledge a third part of our make-up, we create a void that allows evil, prejudice, and hatred to rush in and reek havoc. Spiritual influences were present within our educational systems for most of our nation's history. Many of our major colleges began as theological seminaries. This is a historical fact.

What has happened to us as a nation? We have refused to honor God, and in so doing, we open the doors to hatred and violence. And when something as terrible as Columbine's tragedy occurs politicians immediately look for a scapegoat such as the NRA. They immediately seek to pass more restrictive laws that contribute to erode away our personal and private liberties.

We do not need more restrictive laws. Eric and Dylan would not have been stopped by metal detectors. No amount of gun laws can stop someone who spends months planning this type of massacre. The real villain lies within our own hearts.

Political posturing and restrictive legislation are not the answers. The young people of our nation hold the key. There is a spiritual awakening taking place that will not be squelched! We do not need more religion. We do not need more gaudy television evangelists spewing out verbal religious garbage. We do not need more million dollar church buildings built while people with basic needs are being ignored. We do need a change of heart and a humble acknowledgment that this nation was founded on the principle of simple trust in God!

As my son Craig lay under that table in the school library and saw his two friends murdered before his very eyes, He did not hesitate to pray in school. I defy any law or politician to deny him that right! I challenge every young person in America, and around the world, to realize that on April 20, 1999, at Columbine High School prayer was brought back to our schools. Do not let the many prayers offered by those students be in vain. Dare to move into the new millennium with a sacred disregard for legislation that violates your God-given right to communicate with Him. To those of you who would point your finger at the NRA- I give to you a sincere challenge. Dare to examine your own heart before casting the first stone! My daughter's death will not be in vain! The young people of this country will not allow that to happen!"

Cry.

I'm sitting here letting myself cry as I listen to Mandisa's song Just Cry. The Lord knows how much my heart is hurting right now and He is collecting all my tears.

John 21:15 Jesus asks Peter, do you love me more than these?
And right now, Jesus is asking me - Rebecca, do you love Me more than _______ ?
